There is a strong smell of oil at Nethergreen, I noticed it last night around 9 pm and again this morning. I have noticed that the oil is now in the pond. Has anyone got a leak further upstream?

It’s funny you should say that because as I was walking home from the Memorial Hall last night, I could smell it strongly near the dam (sheep wash). I had a look round but it was dark and I couldn’t see anything. Could it have come down the brook?
There was still a strong smell of petrol or similar at the Dam this lunch time with a marked oil film on the water flowing out of the pond.
There is a strong smell of oil here at Brook Cottage. Please if you live upstream of the sheep wash /dam please check your oil storage tanks for leaks thank you. Please be aware that the fine for polluting a water course is quite steep.
