Derbyshire County Council have a variety of jobs on offer at a new community care centre
DCC’s new Meadow View Community Care Centre in Darley Dale, near Matlock, is scheduled to open this summer and jobs will shortly be advertised so people are in post before the official opening.
The full and part time jobs will range from care workers, reception and catering staff to deputy unit managers, domestic and laundry staff. There is also an appeal for volunteers.
To fill the posts, two jobs fairs are being held at nearby Underhall Resource Centre in Chesterfield Road, Two Dales, in April, and people who are interested in working at the new care centre are being invited to go along and find out more.
People will be able to discuss the jobs and volunteering opportunities available with our staff and apply for them at the event.
The jobs fairs are being held on:
- Wednesday 1 April between 5pm and 9pm
- Thursday 2 April between 5pm and 9pm.
Anyone who is interested in working at Meadow View Community Care Centre but cannot attend either of the events can contact DCC on 01629 532490 or find out more and apply online (opens in a new window).
Assistant Director Simon Stevens said:
“Staff will be on hand at the two jobs fair events to give more details about what’s on offer, what’s involved and what qualifications you might need.”We hope that people who are interested visit one of the events and find out more about the exciting opportunities on offer.”
The Meadow View Community Care Centre, which is being built next to the Whitworth Hospital, will include 32 specialist residential care beds, a 20-place day centre, public café and health and wellbeing zone. It will also offer short-term respite care.
When it opens, the public will be encouraged to use the community facilities and there will be a full programme of daily activities for people receiving day care.
