Dear Parish & Town Councils

I am writing to advise you that we are currently experiencing some difficulties with waste & recycling collections.  Currently due to unforeseen circumstances Serco are experiencing a shortage of resources; therefore some residents maybe experiencing delays with their scheduled collections.  We apologise for any inconvenience that this may be causing and would like to reassure you that we are working with the contractor to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.  There will be collection staff out this Saturday (25th June) clearing some of the missed collections.  The situation will be reviewed on Monday and every effort will be made to clear any outstanding backlog.  There is no change to scheduled collections, residents should still present their containers on collection day but Serco are not always managing to finish the rounds which is impacting on the following days collections.

If a collection is missed residents should report it at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/waste or contact the waste helpline 01629 761122 and leave their container (s) at the edge of their property until it has been collected.
