PARWICH CROWN GREEN BOWLS CLUB
We are in great need of new wheels. We lost all of them last week and are still trying to find some. Does anybody know where you can get four new ones. Selector tyres might do us a deal. Four new players would do us better!
Tuesday League.
July 11 – Away – Whitworth Park.
A poor night in all respects. Not only did we not play well, but it chucked it down with rain. Harry and John B gave us a good start winning 21 – 11. This was countered by Sue and Clara losing 21 – 9. Rick and Edith came back from the dead, but just failed 20 – 21. Dawn and Dennis again tried really hard, in the end they had to succumb 21 – 8. Final score Whitworth 74, Parwich 58.
Although we had a poor game last week and this week we will hopefully not drop too many places down the league. No match next week so at least we can keep trying to find our wheels.
Next Match – Blank week.
Thursday League
July 13 – Home – Baslow – 1.45.
Strange match this week even though it was on our midden. You would have thought that with Tony and Clara winning 21 – 4 (Clara playing with her special laser guided new woods) that we were on to a good thing. Unfortunately one of our pairs lost 21 – 3. Game even. John H and Sue were 18 – 4 down and clawed their way back to lead 20 – 19. regrettably on the next end they went two down. 21 – 20 Baslow.
For once we really lost our way in the singles winning only one game out of six. The final result was Parwich 98, Baslow 122. Looking at things from an optimistic viewpoint we got three more points than last week! Perhaps what we should do is to bury a killer whale under our green which we can call upon when times get hard.
Next match – Home – Hathersage – 20 July – 1.45pm.
MONDAY NIGHT IS BOWLS NIGHT
6.30pm – 7.30pm.
Don’t forget that on Mondays we are at Parsons Croft and boy do we need the practise. We actually saw a new person on the green last Monday! Hope he comes again this Monday.
PS. If you can’t make Mondays just let Tony (724) or John (455) know and we will arrange an alternative.
John B.
