With so many people struggling financially, Ashbourne foodbank would welcome extra donations. They are currently short of tinned meats. I’m sure they could also use some inexpensive easter eggs (for the kids), as well as other food items . If people left items in the bus shelter by mid day on Friday, I will either get the foodbank to collect the donations or take them to a drop off point myself on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE- 1st Collection from the bus shelter will be on Friday 10-4-20 at around 1.30pm. Please try and put your donation in a plastic bag (I’m sure the foodbank could use them) The foodbank is run by volunteers and Ashbourne Elim Pentecostal Church, The Waterside Centre, Ashbourne DE6 1DG and they have several collection points in Ashbourne.
Maybe we could all donate a few tins each week?? I’m going to. Please leave what we want to donate in the village bus shelter in a plastic carrier bag, on a Friday morning, I will make sure that it is either collected by the foodbank or deliver it to a collection point myself on Friday afternoon. They are particularly short of tinned goods e.g. Chilli con carne, Beef Casserole, Mince and Onion, Curry, Ravioli, Mince Bolognese, Stew Steak, Meatballs, Peas ,Hot dogs, Pies (Frey Bentos??) Or anything else such as toiletries, washing powder, # Andrex😂🤣etc.??
10 bags of groceries dropped off at the M&S collection point so far this week, including 3 that I dropped off earlier in the week, for the Ashbourne food bank, so well done everyone😃 & thanks. We have even managed to donate some Easter 🐇 eggs 🐣 between us The next collection/drop off will be at 1.30pm on Friday 17-4-20. (Parwich bus shelter on the Green.)
