The JIGSAW PUZZLES page has been updated after a several week gap (my apologies). With the latest jigsaw, entitled ‘Bear Stake Croft’, we have an extra twist. There is a page of background information about the orchard and its strange old name. You can get to this page by clicking on the link across the top of page with the puzzle on, but you will have to complete the puzzle before the link will work.
Leave a comment below if you think this is a good idea, and you would like us to repeat it with future puzzles.

Lynette C suggested this might be an interesting activity for Parwich School; to pick the photograph for the Jigsaw of the week (or month) and gather background information or material for the page that can only be accessed when the puzzle is completed.
Having just completed the puzzle, I can confirm that the “reward” is well worth the effort – some fascinating background info there!
I really enjoy doing the jigsaws, they can get quite addictive. One positive about the on-line puzzles is that you can only lose the pieces temporarily (when they are hidden under the rest of the puzzle). Peter has really gone to alot of trouble to set this up & I enjoyed reading about Bearstake Croft.
If school doesn’t have sufficient time to do this activity, it could be a good activity for parents to set up on a wet weekend. Just think of those research or story making skills that could be developed as well as improving their IT skills.
Thank you Mike G for pointing out that the sun rises, not sets, in the east. We have changed the title of the relevant jigsaw from ‘Sunset over Parwich’ to ‘Sunrise over Parwich’, but should it more properly be ‘Sunrise over Bradbourne’?
