Following last night’s Horticultural Society Committee meeting here are a few things to keep in mind:
Sunday 22nd June: Open Gardens & Children’s Show Mid-Summer Magic
also Ashbourne Brass Band will be playing on the Green
- If you are willing to open your garden and have not already spoken to Dot Hart please contact her on tel. 456
- If you can help circulate posters contact Dot Hart
- If you can come along to help set up at 5-30pm on Saturday 21st June
- If you have any spare plants we can sell on the Plant Stall please let Peter Trewhitt know (tel 287) or bring them along to the Memorial Hall on the Sunday morning
- If you have any prizes for the Tombola please get them to Ann Beech in advance or bring them along on the Sunday morning
- If you can help with teas on the afternoon please let Pat Barnett know
- Children and parents if you do not have a Children’s Show Schedule already please contact Mike Hart (tel 456) or Ann Beach, or look out for the link on the Society’s SHOWS page
- Do think about entering the Scarecrow competition. Scarecrows can be located anywhere on the Parwich Open Garden route. Entry forms need to be submitted by 11-30am on Sunday 22nd. The winner will be announced at the Children’s Show prize presentation at 5-15pm
- If you have any friends or family that might be interested in coming along to go round the gardens (2pm to 6pm) let them know.
Abel Shipley Memorial Trophy for Hanging Baskets
- Entries are invited for this new Trophy. Please hand in a completed entry form at the Memorial Hall on Sunday 22nd June by 12am, or if you are not able to come along then, please let Mike Hart or Peter Trewhitt know in advance. Judging will take place during Wakes Week.
Tatton Park Trip Friday 25th July
- There are still a few places available so contact Dot Hart (tel 456) if you want to come, non-members are welcome.
Parwich Annual Flower & Vegetable Show Sunday 31st August
- Start thinking about what you might be able to enter. We will shortly be publishing a list of classes.
