It is with great sadness we announce the death yesterday morning of Margaret L after a couple of weeks in the Derby Royal Infirmary. Margaret had had a great zest for life. She and her late husband Roy have given so much to the people of Parwich over the years. Our thoughts and good wishes are with her family and many close friends who will acutely feel her loss.

What a sad loss. I have many lovely memories of Margaret (and Carol) intoducing me to the delights of ‘Whicky Mac’ when we were all back stage waiting to go on for the Pantomime and the ensuing hysterical laughter as we totally abondoned ourselves to its smokey delights. She used to make my sides ache with laughter until tears ran down my face and ruined all the stage make-up – some how it never seemed to affect her in the same way! Her talents on stage were legendary and she had the enviable ability to entertain us all.
However, the picture I will always carry in my head is of her walking around the village with her basket on her arm doing her various errands for the lucky people she looked after. Margaret was one of those very special people that made a mark on life – God Bless her and we send our heartfelt condolences to her family.
