There is a notice on The Green saying that there will be no more fish & chips in Parwich because of lack of trade. So it is back to cooking on a Friday night.
Maybe if the village had not been messed around on dates just after Christmas, with people turning up for fish & chips and no van, then the support would have continued. Reliability is the key.

We turned up on two consecutive Fridays at 7:45 to find that they had gone. Luckily the shop was still open!!
Interesting justification.
In my business, if I turned up randomly, stayed open less than my advertised hours, and broke promises to attend customers, then blamed lack of trade for not bothering at all, some might say I deserved no custom at all – and that’s definitely what I would get !
I have witnessed more than one dissapointed family who, on a Friday night, waited at the appointed hour in vain, and went home hungry.
Make that one s and two p’s – makes me realise how much I rely on spellcheckers!!!
Graham I entirely agree with you (apart from the spelling). We turned up for delicious chippies after Christmas on one of the weeks it failed to make an appearance. I also intended to get our supper on a subsequent Friday night after an early drink at the Sycamore only to be met by another returning empty handed potential customer at 7.45pm. What a way to run a business!
