There’s quite often a Little Owl up Parwich Dale – usually around the area on the stretch of road below the turning for Middle Moor farm. It’s probably more luck than judgement spotting him though.
I believe the most common owl in Parwich is the teat owl …………
How’s your night vision? Judging by the pellets and “twitwooing” one perches in our little oak tree, but usually after dark.
I’ve seen an owl on the south side of Parwich, flying over the fields to the west of the road that takes you to the B5056.
Is it true that the teat owl is rarely seen by men – or that just an old wives tale!
little owls up the top end of the village, also a pair near hartington, and i saw a shorteared beyond cat n fiddle 4 weeks ago… bit of a treck but cool if it’s still there.
Steve from the pub was telling me he saw a little owl only the other day, can’t recall where he’d seen it – you could ask him though.
I’ve seen a Barn Owl quite a few times flying back & forth over the field opposite Wash Meadow, so on the left as you leave the village.
Many thanks for the very helpful comments John F-S.
