From Sandra and Rebecca:
We would like to thank everyone for their support for the Moonwalk which we completed this morning.
We set off from Hyde Park at midnight and strode out for the first 13 miles which took us past Buckingham Palace, Westminster along the Victoria Embankment and over London Bridge; coming back along the South Bank, Albert Embankment and Battersea Park; where there was a quick detour via the bushes!
Having completed that half in 4 hours the wind picked up ( hence the attractive see through capes and space blankets), the miles grew longer and the pavements harder – somewhat less forgiving than the trail on which we clocked up over 200 miles in training. Adding in the growing queues for the loos (no, we couldn’t cope with the SheeWee-inals!) left us finishing just before 9 am – guided in by Arnold for the last mile.
It was great to get so many texts and phone calls through the night, from husbands and insomniac friends! You really kept our spirits up.
It looks like our sponsorship money will not be far off an amazing £1500 – but we will let you know when we have done the final tally.

Well done girls. Fantastic effort. Some people will do anything to get out of watching eurovision….
Wow, congratulations on a great achievement! Hope the feet are recovering!
Fantastic – well done to you both. Didn’t know anything about your walk, just happened to look at the Parwich news before coming down next month for ‘Wakes’. Great result!! Cheers from Cumbria.
