Excellent news, a new vicar has been appointed to the group benefice of Alsop, Fenny Bentley, Parwich, Thorpe and Tissington. It is the Rev. Dr. Andy Larkin, who will be moving to our parish at the beginning of January.
Andy Larkin says of himself:
At present, my family and I live in Brailsford and I work as Curate in five parishes to the south of Ashbourne.
Previous to that, I worked as a chaplain at the Derby Hospitals and as a Curate at St Peter’s, Littleover.
My wife Jo is a secondary school psychology teacher, currently working part time at The Ecclesbourne School in Duffield.
We have been married for sixteen years and have three children, Ben (7), Harry (5) and Maisie (2).
Most of our married life has been spent in Warwickshire, though the Church sent us to Bristol for two years before we came to Derbyshire.
Before entering the ministry I worked variously as a businessman, university academic, management and IT consultant.
Andy Larkin has first degrees in Computer Systems Engineering and Theological Studies and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. He has previously been Director of the Knowledge, Engineering and Management Centre at Coventry University and retains links with the IT company Berica of which he was a co-founder.
Best wishes to Andy, Jo, Ben, Harry and Maisie from all of us here at PARWICH.ORG, we look forward to getting to know you next year, if not sooner.

great news — hope Jo Andy and the children will be happy here in Parwich — how lucky we are to have a young family in the vicarage. Hopefully Andy will let us know what – if anything – we can do to make his move into the vicarage any easier!
Welcome to the village!
Great news that we are getting another family in the Vicarage. Best wishes to all the Larkin family. Hopefully the six months does not mean that everyone here will have had time to think of too many plans for you all, but rather makes us all the more pleased when you arrive.
Dear Andy, Jo and family
A big welcome to you. Its great to have a young family moving into the village again and we all look foward to seeing you all in Parwich from January.

Hello Andy, Jo, Ben, Harrie and Maisie,
We are glad to hear that you are coming to our lovely village of Parwich- soon to be your village. We will all be looking forward to seeing you. If you are round and about before then pop in and say hello.

Hello Parwich!
We are absolutely thrilled to be joining your village community and look forward to meeting you all in due course. Over the next few months, you may see us coming and going from the Vicarage in preparation for our move; do come and say “Hi!”. In the meantime we will be following village life through this excellent blog.
With best regards,
Andy, Jo, Ben, Harry & Maisie.
Hi Andy and Team, first great to have you coming. Next door you have children, Oliver and Charlie and would you believe Maisy aged 3. My business partner and I were intrigued with the PhD interesting qualification we have quite a few clients who are artificially intelligent. However we have that old Church pedal organ in the Vicarage, which Christopher’s children played, is it all right there at the moment or do you want it moved.
to Andy, Jo, Ben, Harry and Maisie
Happy New Year from all at Braislford Methodist Church. We shall miss Andy at the Coffee Shop on Tuesday mornings. We hope you all settle quickly into the village and have many happy years in Parwich.
Kind regards and best wishes from all at the Methodist Church
