There has been a little interest in our last two posts on the idea of allotments
Parwich & District Horticultural Society discussed the idea at their last committee meeting and offered to co-ordinate any interest and possible garden sites. The easiest option would be to try to bring together those wanting space to grew vegetables with those who had land. This might be part of a garden that is larger than needed or a re-introduction of the idea of a ‘pingle’ (a corner of a field used to grow vegetables). Though requiring more long term planning, if there was sufficient demand the best option would be to seek a larger plot for more formal allotments.

Me too! Just back from hols. But would be v interested in setting up allotments as I want more space to grow veg and fruit. When can we meet to discuss?
I’m very interested but would need to think more about the practicality of this for me personally, in particular time required to make it worth while, before being able to commit to anything.
