There are a good selection of photos at the British Dragon Fly Society website (see http://www.dragonflysoc.org.uk/species.html ).
I wonder if this is one of the following:
Norfolk Hawker
Vagrant Emperor
Yellow-winged Darter
Wandering Darter
My choice purely on the basis of its name is the Vagrant Emperor.
It’s a common darter dragonfly – Sympetrum striolatum.
A widespread species in the county but nice to see all the same. the mature males are red, the immatures and females straw coloured.
