The lesson of history (former A625 at Mam Tor, Castleton – similar geology, similar pattern of events), is that this road will never re-open.
I contacted the County Council over a year ago over this section of road, the biggest problem is that this road was not designed to take such huge heavy lorries that now come into the local quarries.Would it be an option to purchase a section of road adjacent to the landslip and take the road away from the edge of the steep slope, and posibly speeding up the re-opening of the road ah!I forgot all the red tape and bull—-
