It’s 12:30 on Saturday afternoon, and the snow has been falling for several hours now. If you have any information on the state of the roads around Parwich, Alsop, Ballidon and Pikehall, then please share it with us via the comments box below.

Weather

Just got back from an aborted attempt to drive to family gathering in Cheshire. Got as far as the Bull in Thorn on A515 to Buxton and decided the road was about to shut so returned. Took us 1 hr 15 to do it, and it was almost impassable even in a 4WD.
Don’t think it’s worth venturing out, although I don’t think the snowfall will continue for much longer – it will take a while to retrieve the stranded cars up there though.
Alsop road looks bad from where we are, we’ve already seen one smashed car limp back to await recovery.
Wouldn’t try to leave the village that way!
Does anyone have any info on the southbound exit road that links Parwich (and Ballidon) to the B5056?
Report from our friends who left the village at 12.30pm:
The Alsop Road is not at all pleasant to drive along…particularly half-way along. The A515 is treacherous from the Alsop turning through to the Bentley Brook. The snow turned to sleet from that point. A couple of roads are closed in Ashbourne.
Been told that there was an accident at parsley hay about nine cars involved dont know any other details
