Relatively recently we had a post on the insurance problems following the ‘flooding’ in 2008 and on the Environment Agency website classification of village homes at risk of flooding. A village resident discussed the matter with a Nottingham based insurance broker who felt that there may be benefits in exploring a collective solution. The broker suggested holding a local surgery and if there was interest trying to get cheaper insurance by taking a number of households together to potential insurers:
We have been speaking to Parwich resident recently about his household insurance, and he has been telling us all about Parwich. We feel that we have just the right set up to be able to deal with the insurance needs of home owners in Parwich.
We have done some research and have a good understanding of the geography of Parwich and the surrounding areas. We have already spoken to several insurers who are keen to work with us to provide insurance cover for the village.
Our approach is different to other household insurance providers in that the cover is bespoke to your requirements and we provide a very personal service at a competitive price.
When we review the home insurances of lots of our clients we very often find their cover to be inadequate. Most people are either under insured, or are insured through policies that exclude risks that are key to their home, their precious belongings and their families so its always worth a review.
We are happy to visit clients in a surgery type arrangement or individually so please contact myself (contact details below) or Bryan Elliott on 07824 566556 or via e-mail at belliott@wilorg.com . We look forward to hearing from you.
