Please note that signs are up reporting a further planned closure of the A515 between Fenny Bentley and Sandybrook tomorrow Thursday 5th August 2010 – 6pm to 6am.
To avoid this you will need to go via Nether Bradbourne/Kniveton or via Thorpe.
I did note today that our brilliant new section of the B5056 is worryingly starting to develop some potholes along the edges of the road on both sides, though more markedly on the south bound lane. So take care.

Thanks for the warning about the potholes, will try and avoid them as I have just had the tracking fixed on the car and a new tyre fitted which have been caused by terrible road conditions.
Gill, if you can demonstrate the damage was due to potholes on the road that Highways already was aware of, you are entitled to compensation.
The problem is that unless there was a single event with the car hitting a pothole, it is difficult to demonstrate that general wear and tear are related to specific potholes.
Lots of sheep out on the road from Bradbourne to the main road this morning!
Thanks Peter, Unfortunatley it would be difficult to isolate which pothole caused the problem as I think it was just due to the amount of potholes. We tend to use different routes and the roads through Alsop and Bradbourne were both and still are quite heavily rutted. Maybe when I change my car next I will consider an off-road all terrain vehicle just to cope with the potholes. Any suggestions?
