Bee swarm on Tuesday 22nd May
A big thank you to Rita, Tracy Ann and Alice for helping me locate a swarm of bees on Tuesday, the day we got back from holiday. I am pleased to say the swarm is now safely hived. This was a big swarm and at this early stage of the season there is good prospect of some honey before the end of the summer. As the saying goes, a swarm in May is worth a load of hay.
If anyone comes to know of a swarm of bees needing to be hived, please ring me on 390433 or my mobile 0774 0626 804, and I will respond with alacrity. Swarming bees are normally engorged with honey and are fairly docile and hence unlikely to sting, but it is best not to approach a swarm unless you are wearing protective clothing and have a smoker.
