The weather was kind for today’s Odd Fellows procession. There was an excellent turn out too, both from the village and from members of Odd Fellows groups from several other regions. Everyone was made very welcome by the various hosts along the route where refreshments were provided. A very pleasant event indeed!

True to form on Wakes Saturday there was an excellent turnout for the Parwich and District Teetotallers annual march, led by the Salvation Army’s Temperance brass band they enjoyed fruit cup at various locations around the village before a church service led by the Very Reverend Don Perignon.
The theme was ,’Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder’ ,the ladies in the congregation gave a rousing rendition of ‘Lips that touch alcohol shall not touch ours ‘.The Society later retired to the Memorial hall where they enjoyed a hearty luncheon of roast beef with all the trimmings and no sherry trifle. After a short speech by the Right Honourable A.A.Pinkie the Society distributed leaflets around the village warning of the evils of drink before reconvening at the Royal British Legion for afternoon tea.
