DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL YOUTH ACTION GRANT
Derbyshire County Council (DCC) has released details of their new Youth Action Grant, which is open to applications from voluntary groups, sports clubs and charities in Derbyshire. The Youth Action Grant is offering grants of up to £1,000 for projects which will benefit young people aged 13 to 19 years, or up to 24 years if they have disabilities. The list of the type of projects they would like to fund include “sports groups for young people, including netball, football, swimming and keep fit” as well as “extending activities so they can be offered at evenings, weekends, school holidays or additional new locations”.
What can the Youth Action Grant pay for?
• Buying and hiring equipment
• Hiring a venue
• Travel (such as getting people to an event)
• Training fees
• Materials for your project
• Publicity costs for your project.
A Youth Action Grant cannot pay for:
• Promoting religious or political beliefs
• Buying land or buildings
• Running costs e.g. utility bills, council tax, rent and insurance
• On going staff costs e.g. wages and personal expenses.
When can you apply? You will need to get your applications in forthe last working day of the month, in September 2012, and October 2012. You will find out if you have been successful by the end of the third week of the month.
