There are currently six parish councillors and the Parish Council now needs to co-opt one more person to fill the remaining vacant post to bring the council up to its maximum of seven councillors.
Parish Council discussions are lively and varied, as the Parish Council has a very wide and growing range of responsibilities and interests. This includes the management of the parish land, greens and ponds, the provision of play and recreation facilities, toilets etc. It also is involved in supporting local initiatives. Another important aspect of Parish Council work is engaging in consultation on all local planning matters.

Why has this vacancy arisen? Has a councillor’s term expired or has a councillor resigned? If someone is leaving as the advert implies, which Councillor is it?
Could you clarify the names of the Parish Councilllors. I see that the Parish Council Webpage names 7 Parish Councillors yet on minutes earlier in the year Mr Walker is mentioned but he is not named on the Webpage as a councillor. With Mr Walker there would be 8 councilors.
The Council pages on Parwich.org are up to date and show 6 Councillors, all named. Mr Walker resigned prior to the last meeting, hence the requirement for a new Councillor.
It is me that can’t count! I counted Matt Harrison twice!!
Well I am rather large! 😉
Sorry Matt! It was because you were both mentioned as both being elected in June and then joining in November! You have obviously made a double impression on the PC!
I was trying to find out why there was a vacancy but there was nothing on the PC website so was trying (and failing!) to so the sums!!
