Parwich Crown Green Bowls Club
Two really good wins this week against opposition that is considerably higher than us in the leagues. Can you believe also that these matches represent the half way point in the season.
Matlock Tuesday League.
Away – Matlock Golf Club – 18 June.
We have never played well on the Golf Club green, but this week not only did we play well, we excelled ourselves. We managed to win all four games giving us our highest score of the year! Edith and Rick played their usual powerful game, matched by Dawn and Clara. Our other two pairs were well in command and we finished up deserved winners 84 to 45. The Golf club were two places ahead of us in the league, but hopefully this win will lift us above them.
- Next match – Away – Matlock Park B – 25 June, 6.30pm.
Matlock Thursday Friendly League.
Home – Chatsworth A – 20 June.
Chatsworth are third in the league and always have a good team. We can’t seem to get it together in the doubles games, but although we only won one game we were only nine points behind at 51 to 60.
Thankfully we pulled things around in the singles winning four out of the six games. And more than holding our own in the other two games. The final result gave us a win by 131 to 118
- Next match – Home – Lafarge, Hope – 27 June – 1.45pm.
No game this weekend because of ‘Open Gardens’. Don’t forget to support the Horticultural Society on Sunday.
