The glamour of the Edwardians reached Parwich on Friday when Notty Hornblower, vintage fashion collector from Hope House Costume Museum, Alstonfield, staged a stunning catwalk show themed around the clothes worn during the Downton Abbey era and the First World War. Each outfit was modelled beautifully, accompanied by exquisite accessories and fascinating stories about the acquisition of each item. The evening, organised by Cheryl, was to commemorate the start of WW1 with the profits going to the Poppy Appeal and the Memorial Hall Fund.

Was an excellent show
I would have loved to be able come – the clothes look beautiful
Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend our event and those who kindly donated raffle prizes. Also a big thank you to Parwich Royal British Legion for providing the bar and Valerie Kirkham for laying on a super buffet – both free of charge. Because of this, we made a very nice £110 profit which will be split between the British Legion Poppy Appeal and the Village hall fund.
