The snow has started, but the weather forecasters are uncertain about how much there will be. So, as the night progresses and in to the morning, do keep other readers updated if there are any problems on the roads:
Wednesday, 7am: Lynne G. reports
Just heard from a friend that the A515 is closed between us and Ashbourne because of a jack knifed lorry. The news was on Ashbourne Radio but I’ve also found it here in case anyone’s looking for updates:
The County Council website reports conditions are worse in the north of the County with so far the only other reported road closures north of Buxton.
Wednesday 8.15am: Cheryl W says:
I’ve just got to work and the road block is at the Bentley Brook Inn heading towards Buxton. The road from Parwich to Ashbourne is passable with care at the Parwich end but clear in Ashbourne.
Wednesday 10am: If you are traveling north, don’t forget about the Buxton Weather Watch website as they post people’s updates about road conditions pretty regularly.

This closure on the A515 is south of Sandy Brook, so to avoid it you would have to risk the smaller roads, either through Bradbourne/Kniveton or Mappleton.

The A515 is now showing on line as open.
Has anyone driven to Sheffield this morning. I am due to go late morning and wondered which was the best road to take.
I am in Leeds today and decided to go safe via Longcliffe ( which was not great but ok) A6 to A610 then Jn 28 M1. All was fine.
Many thanks, if I can get over Longcliffe the rest will be fine.
