Some of you may have received a notification card from BT that fibre optic cabling has been installed into the village. This means we can now get BT Infinity broadband service. I rang the number on the card and was offered the following –
Unlimited Infinity 1
Download 35Mbps / Upload 10Mbps
£25 per month plus £49 activation charge
Unlimited Infinity 2
Download 80Mbps/ Upload 20Mbps
£32.50 per month with free activation
This is broadband only, no calls or line rental included.
For comparison with “regular” BT Unlimited Broadband my current speed is around –
Download 20Mbps / Upload 1Mbps

I’ve ordered Unlimited Infinity 2 which which is due to be activated on 5th April – they have said it could take up to 7 days for it to settle down after that. I’ll let you know the results as and when they happen.
Oh, and don’t let them try and fob you off with those prices because I’m certainly not paying that on my new contract!
Just an initial update: New HomeHub5 arrived today as promised. Easily installed and currently running on the old broadband system. Fingers crossed for the switchover tomorrow sometime before midnight.
Ooh interesting Cheryl, can you let us know what you’re paying so we have something to aim for!
