PARWICH CROWN GREEN BOWLS CLUB

Now I appreciate that you have been going through major withdrawal symptoms since the bowls season ended last year, however, your need is now about to be satiated with the start of the 2017 season.

As an opener to this season we held a club competition, the open singles on yesterday. The ladies in the Club appear to have a strangle hold on the trophy. Could they be the best players in the Club? On the basis of this, they most certainly are. Last year Dawn blasted everybody off the green. I keep telling you to come and watch the crème de la crème of the Crown Green Bowling scene, you missed a treat. This year it was Edith who showed us all how to play the game. I do not think the word imperious is overstating her domination of the green! Fabulous game Edith. Let us hope she continues to show this form in the league this year.

Our first match in League is this Tuesday at Parsons Croft. We are playing Matlock Park. Come down and see your ‘team’ do their stuff. We are away to Hazelwood next Thursday. Last year we got promoted to the higher division and only missed out on being Champions by a couple of points. Could be tough this year.

As always we are short of players and however hard we try no new members join. This year we have a couple of members not rejoining for various reasons. Your Club really does need you.
