This message is to remind Farmwatch users that we still have 32 trackers available for purchase. These magnetic trackers can be used on any farming vehicle/machinery such as quad bikes/trailers/tractors.
Please can we remind existing buyers to alert us if they intend to move the vehicle they are attached to outside of the pre-defined area. This is to help us assess whether any linked alert requires a police response.
Here are the details if you are interested in this offer:
We have made contact with established UK tracker company Back2you in light of the recent quad bike thefts that the rural farming community have been experiencing. We have secured a number of trackers that can be fitted to quad bikes in order to allow the owner and the police to monitor any movements.
The trackers RRP is £220. Working in partnership with Derbyshire Police, the company have agreed to discount this to £100 and this will include a £15 SIM card that will be pre-installed into the tracker. We have secured funding from our Headquarters which will allow us to further subsidise the sale of 60 trackers by a further £50 each. In essence, you will be able to purchase a £220 tracker for £50, which I have to say, is an exceptional offer.
The trackers work on a SIM card basis. There are no contracts, no subscription fees, no installation costs and no wires. The tracker will work worldwide and are simple to use. The tracker will come with a simple step-by step guide which will essentially require that it is charged for approximately 8 hours upon purchase(this will last an average of 3 months). Switch on the tracker, secrete it on the quad bike and then a text message will then need to be sent to the tracker to activate it. Each text message when corresponding with the tracker costs 5 pence, but depending on use, with a £15 SIM this usually lasts around a year. This is very straightforward to use, however the company give a full 12 month guarantee and free technical help in the rare evet that problems arise. The tracker can be accurately monitored on http://www.back2youtracking.com. Here you can alter the settings of the tracker to allow it to notify you if there is any movement of the vehicle it is attached to, if the vehicle achieves a certain speed and you are also able to set up a geo-fence, a boundary that the vehicle will be used within, which will allow a text alert to be sent out if it leaves that proximity.
The company will provide us with a police use mobile phone to enable us to also monitor sold trackers. The company have agreed to set this up as 1 of the 5 numbers that can communicate with the tracker, so that we are also able to monitor movements when on duty. Back2you will also keep a spreadsheet to notify us of the sales.
We have set up a discount code with Back2you for farmers to make contact to purchase the tracker This is DBY30
We ask that you make contact with the company on 0800 009 6366 and quote DBY30 when making the purchase. You will be asked if you are happy with them installing the dedicated police mobile as 1 of the 5 numbers available to receive alerts. The tracker will then be dispatched.
Please provide the company with a contact number so that we are able to call you in the event of an activation in order to determine whether a police response is required.
This offer is exclusive to the farming community and we are trying to limit the publicity of the initiative so that potential thieves do not become aware of it. In the mean-time, please feel free to share with others that qualify and would benefit
