We have been asked by the Parish Council to publish the following –
Derbyshire Environmental Trust administer the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund. This fund allows grants to be made for certain community projects that are near to landfill sites. It is funded by tax rebates available to land fill operators. Average grants are in the region of £20,000 though there is no specific limit.
The Parish Council has established that Parwich is located close enough to such a site to be able to apply for a grant. It has also been confirmed that playground improvements would be a suitable project.
At this stage the Parish Council is interested in hearing from residents about the sort of improvements they would like to see. Ideas from children would be particularly appreciated.
It is not possible to confirm if any particular suggestion would be implemented as costs and alternatives may have to be considered. The whole process may take many months due to the timetable for preparing and reviewing applications.
Depending on the proposals made permission from the Paek Parks Planning Authority may be required.
Please e-mail or write to the Parish Council, or contact the Clerk or any of the Councillors with your suggestions.
