Just wondered if anyone else, particularly on Creamery Lane, has noticed intermittent loss of internet connectivity or drops in speed lately?

we had really bad problems last week ( as well as v crackly line) up by the school but I did see a BT Openreach van at the exchange and that always seems to be a connection (or loss of one!!) I complained to BT and after 2 days miraculously it seems fine again
No problems here with W3Z
My Broadband has been better over the last week or so. Regularly have spells where my BT broadband keeps dropping out for a few minutes or longer. Seems that when I ring BT and they do a line check the service improves for a while.
I’m with plusnet (fibre option) and it is SLOW!!
Matt we are also on Creamery Lane. Broadband with BT has been appalling for last two weeks ‘falling over’ many times a day, and as Simon says the phone lines have been very crackly. Fortunately I have separate broadband and phone line for my business provided through W3Z and Vonage and have only experienced a problem once in 2 years and the fault was identified on the W3Z website and rectified within a few hours. BT continues to send me monthly offers to upgrade to superfast broadband yet cannot provide the most basic service! When my current BT contract expires I will not be renewing
Matt, I’m also on Creamery Lane. I’m with w3z and Vonage. Both working fine with no problems for possibly over 2 years now.
Thanks all. It sounds very much like an issue at the exchange as we have had other similar reports when talking with others too.
Both phone and BB have on-going problems.
W3Z are a good company that uses different technology to the telephone lines to provide broadband access but their system is not suitable for the service my family needs.
BT/Open Reach provide all the infrastructure for the phones and internet in to the village (apart from W3Z) so not giving BT your custom by using any of the other providers only means you feel better about not paying BT/Open Reach directly – their infrastructure is still used anyway and it appears that this is where the current problem resides.
Just called the fault in to BT and an Open Reach Tech carried out a line fault test and determined that the fault is in the exchange/cabinet and will be scheduled to be fixed within 24 hours.
