   You could email the photo to the Bat Conservation Trust. I’m sure there is somebody locally you has a licence to handle and rehabilitate bats. I will look in my book for his details. It may be useful to pop it in a cardboard box with airholes and keep it somewhere warm

   Thank you. The Bat Conservation Trust helpline only operates from May to September and the number for the Derbyshire Bat Group is , in fact , the same helpline number. Having rung and spoken to several people this morning I have taken the initiative and moved it according to the bat conservation website instructions and it is now in a box in an outhouse where hopefully it will recover, leave the box and roost. If not, well I think I have done as much for it as I can! Interesting morning.
