Sunday marked the beginning of our week long Flower Festival in St Peter’s Church.
The day began with a Songs of Praise service taken by Sarah Lacey, and organist Debbie Manner.
Tea and cakes followed the service until later that afternoon.
We had many local visitors. Hikers and cyclists called in for a welcome break. Also a Paraglider from Castleton visited after landing in a nearby field. All were made welcome and enjoyed looking at the beautifully decorated church.
The flowers which have all been collected from village gardens, will remain in church until this coming Saturday.
Any donations gratefully received will go towards our fundraising efforts for a Memorial Garden in the churchyard at St Peter’s.
