Dog mess – AGAIN

We haven’t had to say this for a while but the irresponsible owners are back! I’ve just had to pick up two big piles of dog mess on Parsons Croft. The field is regularly used for multi school events and  children are often playing on there and this just isn’t acceptable. The dog mess is from a large dog and it isn’t a small amount!

We will all be keeping an eye out and if anyone is spotted leaving dog mess they will immediately be reported for a possible fine.

If you are using Parsons Croft for dogs, which like many I do too, then be responsible take your dog to the bottom of the field to do its business away from where the kids play and PICK IT UP! Don’t just let them run and not watch them or worst is walking a long way in front of them with no idea of what your dog is doing as we see you and we will report you.

So I’m bringing back my old ditty..don’t be a moron and face a big fine, bag and bin it and everything will be fine.

ParWitch Rocks!

Has anyone noticed the Halloween pebbles around the village? I found two today and a friend spotted another. I was going to leave it in case it’s a ParWitch hex or ParWitch protection but then I saw the note on the back so I’ll hide this one!

Bonfire Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported yesterday’s event it was a great turnout and we hope you all had a great time. We had a record number of Guys this year with joint winners Roy Millward and a fantastic group effort from Go Beyond.

The generosity of people last night was greatly appreciated, as was the hard work of all the volunteers (which is still continuing with the big clean up orchestrated by the amazing Roy Millward). A special thank you to Parwich Parish Council for their kind donation towards the fireworks. So from me and the Committee, THANK YOU it all means we can carry on for another year.

Please can you ensure that no one passes the blue rope barrier around the bonfire until the Committee have completely cleared the site. The area is out of bounds to all until then.

Thank you again and see you next year.

After the cancellation of the showing in June, we are pleased to present this film again.

A 1920s English seaside town bears witness to a dark, absurd scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, “Wicked Little Letters” follows two neighbours: deeply-conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and fellow residents start to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women, led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan), begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect that something is amiss and Rose might not be the culprit after all.

NB  the film contains strong language

Independent****  Olivia Colman hurling expletives is enough to sustain this witty true-life comedy
