Here are some ways in which we can help Carolyn while she is in hospital.
1. Photographs.
We are planning to take photos of familiar people and places into hospital for Carolyn. This is partly to help her keep in touch, and also so that she can let all the numerous new people (nurses, therapists, etc) know something about herself.
If you have any images that you think would be useful, please e-mail them to parwich@hotmail.co.uk and we will forward them to Howard. (To avoid confusion, please mark them as “Photos for Carolyn”.)
Peter Trewhitt will also be in The Sycamore on Thursday evening with a camera, ready to photograph anyone who is willing.
2. Messages.
Do please continue leaving messages for Carolyn in the comments box (or e-mail them to us if you prefer). Howard can take them and read them to her, to help her recovery.
3. Sound Recordings.
There is also the opportunity to record short messages for Carolyn, until it is the right time for us all to visit in person. Mike Atkinson will then burn these to CD, so that Howard can play them to her in hospital. This will not only cheer her up and let her know that we are thinking of her, but it will also be another great way to assist her recovery.
If you would like to take part, then there will be a “recording session” at Creamery Cottage (Creamery Lane) between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
Alternatively, if you can’t make it on Saturday afternoon, then there will be a digital dictaphone behind the bar of The Sycamore, from Friday morning. These messages will also be burnt to CD.

Thank you for sending in photos, we will pass them on to Howard.
Don’t forget how much Carolyn loves the village children and dogs when it it comes to the photos…!
Hi all,
I’m wondering what we can do to help Howard? I’d be happy to take on laundry duties (just got a new machine & no trouble at all). I don’t really know Howard as well as I did Carolyn, could someone pass my offer on?
I’m away this weekend, so can’t do the recording, but think it is a great idea! Does Carolyn have an ipod, and if not would people like to chip in and get her one? Maybe Mike H could put on her favourite music or something.
She’s in my prayers –
Debbie
Hi Carolyn,
Just to let you know we are thinking of you all the time and sending lots of good wishes your way.
I asked Sam what he wanted to do over the Easter holiday, and all he wanted was to go to the pub and have lunch and play pool. It would have been even more fun if you were there as well.
Please get well and come home soon. We are all rooting for you!

Hi Carolyn and Howard, first we wish you a speedy recovery, the husband of my secretary has had what appears the same stroke and he is now home with the excellent help of the Stroke Association re which I have left the documents in the pub from her. Contact with them is a must.
Tom has been in the village today and leaves for Beijing on Tuesday taking Parwich.org with him for 5 days he has done a card from the Holby City team who all wish you a speedy recovery, as you know most of his patients are fine by the end of the day and sitting up so if there is any further delay better pop down to Holby City.
What a way to get out of being the new clerk to the Parish Council!!!
All our best Stuart Rosy and Tom and Clare
