Thank you to Mark Ashworth for supplying the following:
We came to Parwich to see Peter and to have a rest – as usual. We have managed the former, but the latter was disrupted by my (self-inflicted) entry into the Hill Race. It sounded innocuous enough, but proved quite a challenge for this Veteran (it seems that one becomes a veteran earlier and earlier these days). The experience has increased my respect for Parwich’s hill, and also for the organisation of this event. It was clear that a considerable amount of thought and effort had gone into making our scramble up the hill a thoroughly professional affair. Thank you to the marshals for standing out in the rain, and to everyone else involved. My congratulations as well to all those who participated, in particular to the winners of the various categories. My thought for the evening: I can manage hills at just a little below my natural pace, but increase to just slightly above and one quickly becomes exhausted. I will try to remember that lesson as I return to work next week. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and the event. But I will definitely not be participating in the Strongest Man tonight!

Sorry, this reporting for the Blog business means we are on a steep learning curve. I had thought ‘the results’ meant the trophy winners. The actual results with all the times are now winging their way towards PARWICH.ORG through the internet, and will appear on-line a.s.a.p.
