Apologies that this has taken a while to get on the website…
Last Thursday’s wheelbarrow race got off to a flying start, with the three ladies teams:
- Liz Edge and Alison Cooper
- Sarah Hotchin and Paula Lynham
- Nicky Leach and Laura Wood.
The men’s race, which was a slightly longer course, had five entrants:
- Jonathan Hotchin and Tony Marshall (with a combined age of 100!)
- Robert Gosling and Paul Dickinson
- Any Dickinson and Dan Smith
- Graham Johnson and Paul O’Connol
- Nick Gilman and Dan Mycock
After flying round the village with the odd break for a leisurely cider, Sarah and Paula wheeled into a victorious first place for the ladies’ teams, followed by Liz and Alison and then by Nicky and Laura.
The men’s race was won by Andy Dickinson and Dan Smith, followed by:
Robert Gosling and Paul Dickinson (2nd place)
Graham Johnson and Paul O’Connol (3rd place)
Jonathan Hotchin and Tony Marshall (4th place)
Nick Gilman and Dan Mycock (5th place)
Well done to the organisers and the entrants!

The true athlete’s amongst you would have spotted the omssion of the only true test of sporting ability – the strong man competition.
Oops!
Replace 10 with “result in strong man”.
