On Christmas morning 23 hardy sorts met on The Green and walked over to Tissington and were welcomed by 7 non walkers with coffee, gluvine and nibbles, so giving them the strength to stagger back to Parwich for their Christmas Dinner.

Gluvine is phonetic of course, but proper spelling is:
Glühwein or with a UK keyboard: Gluehwein.
This word is a composite German word of “Glühen” which means warm or glowing or shining, and Wein the German word for wine. With the correct mixture (red wine, spices and (often) any form of Schnaps) Glühwein is noted for making you glow from the inside outwards. GOOD STUFF on a cold winter’s day.
