A great evening with an excellent crowd and a full competent of twelve competitors.
Shaun and Rob again organised a fantastic evening, with some new events:
Churn Challenge: In pairs the competitors race against each other and the clock carrying two milk churns filled with gravel.

Battery Lift: Competitors hold a battery with their arms stretched out for as long as they can.

Van Pull: Sitting down competitors pull a loaded van by a rope over a set distance. The person who pulls the van over the distance the fastest wins this event.

Log Lift: A tree trunk is supported in a scaffolding and competitors must lift it as many times as they can within 60 seconds.

Truck Load: In pairs competitors race against each other and the clock to carry a tractor tyre over a set distance and then load various bulky items onto a truck.

Overall the winner was Andrew Fletcher of Belper, competing for the second year running, with local Jim Rushton in second place and Carl Prime, last year’s winner, coming third.

The evening was sponsored and organised by Marshalls Builders and R Keeling Plumbing. Raffle prizes were given by Longcliffe Quarries, the Bluebell Inn, the Horns and the Sycamore Inn. The £55 profit from the raffle is being donated to Stepping Stones Pre-School.
