It’s a new day….with all manner of snowy, icy treats in store for the residents of Parwich, Alsop-en-le-Dale, Ballidon and Pikehall. Once again, it would be really helpful to pass on any information you have on the state of the roads and driving conditions around our area via the commenting facility.
It is forecast to stay well below freezing all day, but you can click here to see the current temperature in Parwich.
Parwich School and QEGS remain closed today, click here for all the Derbyshire School closures.
Also see BBC Derby Travel News for updates for roads across the whole County.

Paul O’C and I made it to Derby this morning. It’s very cold so the snow has hardened and you need to watch for ice. Having said that, the plough had been through and once out of the village the roads are passable with care.
A515 to Buxton OK this morning. Side roads are all difficult. -19 degrees C at Bradbourne Mill – at this temperature the salt doesn’t work so be very wary of black ice.
From Buxton Weather’s correspondent at Parsley Hay on the A515:
“Road is clear on this stretch, traffic is moving fairly smoothly (mostly only trucks and 4x4s so far though). Only hazard at present is ice but the gritters have been busy so the road is clear north of here to Buxton – at least for now.”
Been to Ashbourne and back this morning – saw loads of Parwich people around. A515 is fine, the B road out is sometimes a bit narrow and there are quite a few lorries on the road going to and fro the Quarry, so give them plenty of room. Planned driving is the order of the day.
