We work in a barn, which is cold. This year we shared the venue with 18 piglets and two sows.
Some of the youngsters, James and Catherine Carr and school friend Jada.
I even brought family over from America to lend a hand: Judy from North Carolina.
Today is the final day and we concentrated on filling the sides with parsley and conifer and we were finished by lunchtime.
The design for our Well this year is St George and the Dragon and work continued on this portion of the board for the rest of the afternoon.
Lichen is added to represent the armour, new red tips of the photina leaves for the belt and dried sweetcorn for his golden buckle.
Freshly picked pansies form the skirt of armour giving a very rich and regal touch to the picture.
As always it has been a real honour to be involved with the Tissington Well Dressings, it is marvellous to see such a fabulous tradition continuing, when so much of our heritage appears to be disappearing.
Don’t forget you can visit Tissington from tomorrow, Thursday 2nd June and see all seven Well Dressings, they will remain up a week.
