Parwich was part of the network of beacons, one of more than 4000 being lit across the UK and Commonweath. The beacon, on Parwich Hill, could easily be seen in the village and this was followed by fireworks and rockets. Thank you to everyone who helped to build the beacon and to Richard T & Denis L for organising the wonderful fireworks.
All pictures can be enlarged. Thank you to Chris H for the photos above and to JF-S for the following ones taken from the cricket pitch.

The beacon and fireworks looked great from down in the village.
I agree, it looked really impressive from below, but I must admit the photographer and his able(?) assistant on the cricket pitch did miss the jolly atmosphere we knew there’d be on the hill. Proud to be British all the same!!
The kids and I loved running (breathlessly) up Parwich Hill to see the Beacon & Fireworks – can’t wait to get celebrating with everybody this afternoon!
It was great on the top too – thanks to everyone who made that happen – fantastic memories for all.
A pyromaniac or two in the village helps….

I just think the last photo in this sequence is truly amazing. Did JFS take that?
He certainly did – it is brilliant.
