Business Peak District is holding the workshop at Beechenhill Farm, Ilam, near Ashbourne, whose environmentally-friendly farming and holiday business has just been shortlisted for a Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism award.

People who attend the workshop will learn about key steps to saving energy, installing renewable technology and how to make their businesses more resilient to climate change.

Business Peak District is run by local business people with support from Staffordshire Moorlands, Derbyshire Dales and High Peak councils along with the Peak District National Park Authority.

Rural Business Adviser Lindsay Allen, from the Peak District National Park Authority, said: “We have an impressive range of speakers, including experts on planning, environmental technology and climate change.

“The venue at Beechenhill Farm will give people the opportunity to see energy efficiency and renewable technology in action, and there will be the chance to have one-to-one sessions with planning officers and renewable experts,” explained Lindsay.

“The event will round off with a free, locally-sourced lunch to enable people to network and learn from each other.”

The workshop is on Tuesday November 27, 9.30am-1pm, at Beechenhill Farm, Ilam, (postcode DE6 2DB).

Though the event is free, a cancellation fee of £10 will be payable to cover costs if people cancel after 9am November 26.
