Terry P would like to let people know about the potential impact neighbouring trees can have on household insurance:
Household insurance
If you have recently renewed your household insurance , you will have no doubt noticed all the exclusions the insurance company will have added to your schedule. It would make one wonder whether or not for the premium you have any cover at all.One thing they are particularly keen on is trees, and the proximity of any large tree to a building, the roots of trees that are to close to a building can undermine the foundations of a house, even if the tree is not on your property but belongs to your neighbour, it can do untold damage to the foundations of a house and may well cause cracking on internal walls. Your insurance may well be null and void if you have a tree as described witnin a certain distance from your property. Its well worth checking out if you have a tree very close to your building.
Better be safe than sorryTerry P
