Marion F-S has shared the following link with the Blog Team, it has a great review of their barn and also Parwich. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

What a lovely review – something to be proud off.
Nothing against the F-S’s, and their barn business, but this is a for-profit commercial, plain and simple: it is promoting a specific business. Is there a trade section on this site – or is it OK for advertising to be placed on the Global blog? Just wondering, because one day all we might read on the main page are similar ads.
Part of the role of the Blog has always been to include information on local businesses from its first conception, see https://parwich.org/directory/ .
Where there is new information on local artists, crafts people or businesses, the Blog Team is always happy to include it. We were pleased to include a link to this review as it also contained positive references to our local area.
Much of what is included on the Blog has a commercial aspect; should we not post information on Pikehall Races, the Y Not Festival, Esther’s exhibition this afternoon, classes in the Memorial Hall?
The examples you cite are pretty much miles away from the promotion of a specific business, run by two people, for singular profit. Nothing wrong with that, but to equate it with art and public events is spurious, and evasive to the point.
What a sad state of affairs it is if we can’t share in the praise of our friends and fellow villagers – if the post hadn’t have been on the blog, I wouldn’t have known to read it. Whilst it might be commercial enterprise, shouldn’t we rejoice in such a positive review after all of Marion and John’s hard work. As the Blog Team says, the Blog is there for all aspects of village life which includes promoting local businesses – where is the harm in that?
I agree with you Cheryl.
I also agree with Cheryl. The review was good publicity rather than a trade advert. The blog already contains links to all the local holiday lets and businesses in true village spirit.
Yes I agree, the blog should be there for any and everthing that is good in the village. There are other times when ones views on a particular matter can also be aired along with lively and sensible debate.
I also agree with the Blog team and Cheryl. Besides which, most of the people who view the blog live in the area. Who on earth wants to rent a holiday cottage for a holiday, down the road from where they live??!! (OOps!! Maybe all of us who have agreed with Cheryl should be careful that we don’t stand accused of “a vaguely mob-mentality!!”)
