Good afternoon

I am hoping that Parwich.org and the wider Parwich community might be able to help with our situation?

We moved to Parwich in the summer of 2017 and we were expecting a long and happy future here, especially with the birth of our first child imminent at the time. We love the village and the people we have met have been really friendly and supportive to us.

Sadly, my wife is registered disabled with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since the birth of our daughter, her health has got progressively worse. She has good days and bad days but the overall trend has been one of a decline.

We need to sell our house at 3 Rathbourne Croft, urgently, so that we can move to a more suitable location where we have other family close by that could help us through the bad times. We have listed our house with different estate agents for the best part of 5 months now and in that time we have only had 5 viewings, which has left us incredibly worried and frustrated; especially when we found out that the previous owners took over 2 years to sell it.

We have just gone live with a new estate agent. I would really appreciate it if Parwich.org could mention this story on their website and perhaps on a recurring basis, link to it again so we can spread the word amongst the local community that this house, newly renovated, is for sale at a very reasonable price. The house has a Derbyshire Dales Local Occupancy Clause against it. We have pleaded with our local MP and the council to remove it so we can sell quickly but they don’t seem to care about our circumstances.

If people could share this story far and wide, on Facebook for example, it may reach a potential buyer. I will also take on board any useful suggestions that might help us sell.

If I print off flyers advertising our house, could I stick them up in the noticeboards that are dotted around the village? Would I possibly be able to stick up posters in the Sycamore and the Legion do you know?

I also wonder if any stall holder at the village market on Saturday 30th June might have a few of our flyers on the corner of their table? We think Saturday would be a good opportunity for an “open house day” at our property. Anyone can come and view it on Saturday, please just knock on our door between 9am and before 6pm (when the baby goes to bed).

Parwich on TV

Parwich will be making an appearance on the BBC One  Inside Out programme at 7.30pm on Monday 3 October. The programme is about affordable housing and should feature some shots of Smith Close and Parsons Croft and maybe other parts of the village. Although the filmmakers were in the village for an entire afternoon earlier in the year, Parwich was only one of the places they were filming for the programme – so don’t blink as you may miss it!

DDDC Local Plan

Although DDDC is not the planning authority for Parwich, the draft Plan for Derbyshire Dales may be of interest.

Deadline approaches for draft Local Plan consultation

The deadline is approaching for local people to have a final say on the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan before it is sent to the Government for examination at the end of the year.

A public consultation, which started on 11 August after a pre-submission draft of the Local Plan was approved at a special full meeting of Derbyshire Dales District Council, ends on 22 September.

An online survey can be completed at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/LocalPlan.

A total of 6,571 homes are earmarked for the district in the pre-submission document, with 28 residential sites allocated – 15 in the central area and 13 in the southern area.

Once approved, the Local Plan will guide local development in the Dales up to the year 2033.

The consultation was supported last month by public meetings in Ashbourne and Matlock, together with a public exhibition that has toured the district and is currently available to view at Matlock Town Hall until 22 September.

Copies of the pre-submission Plan are also available at libraries in Wirksworth, Ashbourne and Matlock, at the District Council’s leisure centres in Ashbourne and Wirksworth and at Matlock Town Hall.

A District Council spokesperson said: “This last round of public consultation is an opportunity for local people to comment on the soundness of the Local Plan. We would stress that only those commenting on the Plan at this stage will have the right to be heard at the Examination in Public in the future.”

At three meetings in July, the council’s Local Plan Advisory Committee considered the views of local people who took part in an earlier public consultation that ran from 7 April to 19 May – including 2,600 comments from around 800 individuals.

Holiday Accommodation Request

Does anyone know of any ‘baby and toddler’ friendly holiday accommodation ie with a double bedroom and another with room for two cots somewhere and a reasonably large bathroom. Parking close by would be good too.

Damage to Barn Cottage Roof

Sometime today whilst Gill was out a van (I am assuming) turned down Creamery Lane from Kiln Lane and got a little stuck, as is usual. This time however the driver hit the bottom of our roof smashing several and displacing a dozen tiles before just leaving without letting us know who they were. I don’t suppose anyone saw or heard anything at all so that I might be able to get in touch with them?
