Sometime today whilst Gill was out a van (I am assuming) turned down Creamery Lane from Kiln Lane and got a little stuck, as is usual. This time however the driver hit the bottom of our roof smashing several and displacing a dozen tiles before just leaving without letting us know who they were. I don’t suppose anyone saw or heard anything at all so that I might be able to get in touch with them?
Many thanks,

Damage to Barn Cottage Roof
Monday September 21, 2015 by Fiona H
Matt,
How frustrating for you! A long shot, but is it worthwhile asking the postman as he would have been around in the village for at least part of the day.
I have to say that the very narrow and steep top-end of Creamery Lane can be a problem. In a different scenario, many years ago, a large truck tried to get up the lane, realised he couldn’t, reversed down and into our drive in order to turn round. The truck managed to demolish the corner of our old garage. Luckily, another resident and myself were there on time to stop him from driving off before getting his details. My other concern is that (a small minority of) vans drive much too fast downhill along this steep top-end of the lane. Is there anything (sign, roadmarkings,?) that would stop vans and trucks from trying to access/exit from the Rathbourne Croft area of Kiln Lane along this steep and narrow section of Creamery Lane?
The grit bin on kiln lane was also damaged last week. It looks like someone has reversed into it, and now there is grit all over the verge and the bin has been thrown onto the verge.
A delivery van was trying to get to an address at the bottom of Creamery lane he became stuck at the top.He tried to turn the large lorry around in Rathbourne Croft. A little later the post man informed be it was backing down Kiln Lane and had taken the grit bin with him
There is still chance to input into the County Council’s consultation on 20mph speed limits in residential areas, the closing date is 30th Sept.

Thanks Wendy – was it Darwen by any chance?
I asked Darwin and he didn’t see anything unfortunately.
