Yesterday I was commenting to JF-S about the beautiful blossom on one of his trees which we couldn’t identify. Later in the day he sent me a photo; I challenged him to photo some other trees and plants and within no time at all they were emailed in and here they are. Your challenge is to help identify all 14. Answers in the comment box please.
Budding Beautiful, but what are they all?

Is #5 a budding quince?
Yes, it is a Japanese Quince or a Chaenomeles, probably the one that is overlapping your wall!
A few guesses…
2 – a magnolia, possibly stellata
4 – flowering currant
6 – a camellia
7 – a type of willow?
9 – clematis, a Montana
11 – forsythia
12 – variegated periwinkle
13 – a tulip
14 – Bergenia (Elephant’s Ears)
Well I think we have the majority of the answers, unless any horticultural experts would like to enlighten us further.
2 – a magnolia, possibly stellata
4 – flowering currant
5 – Japanese Quince/Chaenomeles
6 – a camellia
7 – a type of willow?
8 – a hydrangea?
9 – clematis, a Montana
10 – Prunus – (not sure which one)
11 – forsythia
12 – variegated periwinkle
13 – a tulip
14 – Bergenia (Elephant’s Ears)
So 1 and 3 are a mystery and clarity is needed on 7, 8 & 10.
3 – Viburnum ( either bodnantense or grandiflora – probably the former.
8- Hydrangea- probably the climbing one- petiolaris- as it is already well in bud.
