All of us here at Parwich.org would like to extend our sympathies to Evie, Alice, Lucy and Paul. Paul B, an active participant in our community, was also a very active supporter and contributor to the Parwich Blog from the start. His Weedkiller Weekly column and cartoons at times pushed the boundaries (click here to see all the Weedkiller posts), but always had a band of loyal readers. Perhaps we should read a few so we can attend his funeral with a smile on our faces:

Thursday 26th November 1pm at St Peter’s Church in Parwich there will be a Service of Remembrance (following a private family service at the crematorium). ‘Funeral attire is strictly optional’ and the Service will be followed by refreshments at the Legion and the Memorial Hall.

Thank you Katy W for passing on this sad news from Ian at Village Games, Derbyshire Dales District Council. It is a real shame, as those who attended were really enjoying it.

Please share this email I received….

“I have spoken with Claire after each class since July and I’m aware we haven’t had great attendances thus far. With that in mind, and barring some divine miracle this Saturday where people turn up in droves for the class, it pains me to say that I think we will have to stop the class after Saturday’s session. As we discussed when planning the session initially, Village Games is not about making profit, however we do at least need to cover costs when running sessions such as this one in order to make the session sustainable. Unfortunately we’re not even coming close to achieving this each month and as I’m sure you can appreciate, we can’t continue to run the session in its current state indefinitely. I’m genuinely saddened to write this email, but I’m acutely aware that sometimes, these things just don’t work for one reason or another”

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and support in trying to make the session a success”

So anyone interested in tomorrow’s session or getting numbers up to try to rescue future sessions do speak to Katy or contact Ian Dipaolo tel 0790 944 3293 asap.
