Such an enjoyable and memorable day! Watching the wedding ceremony in the memorial hall really added to the sense of occasion, and both the picture and the sound quality (especially during the wedding music) were superb. Hopefully there will be opportunities to screen other important live TV events in this way in the future? The BBQ at the Legion was also much appreciated, as was the wedding cake and sherry, and it was great to witness the awarding of the prizes and mugs. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped to organise and fund the event.
A big vote of thanks to the Carnival & Rec Committee for organizing such a wonderful village day, especially to Denis, to Carl at the Legion and Val and her team . I thought there was a real feeling of togetherness.
The Hall will be keeping its TV licence for the time being, so it would be good to have suggestions for screening other live broadcasts- football, Wimbledon?
It was a wonderful day in every way, and thank you to all who made it possible (not least ‘Wills and Kate’ themselves!).
Wimbledon finals on the big screeen sounds a great idea – champagne and strawberries anyone??
Thank you to John for these lovely photo’s. Would it be possible please to maybe publish them in an album for keepsakes? I know I would buy one so that I could look back and remember such a wonderful day spent with wonderful friends. With regard to the big screen – the possibilities are endless: Wimbledon, the Olympics, the Queens Golden Jubilee….. I can feel lots of parties coming on!!!
We had a lovely day and definately an occasion to remember. A big thank you to all the organisers and contributors.
Some ideas for future events; Wimbledon with strawberries and cream, the Olympics, the Queens Golden Jubilee and how about the Rugby World Cup which is being held in Sept/Oct this year.
