Congratulations to all Parwich Primary School Year 6 pupils. They have all worked tremendously hard (100% at least meeting national expectations in English Writing, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, Reading and Mathematics) – Greater Depth was also celebrated in each of these subjects.
Our Year 6 deserve every success in the future.

Following receipt of the final Ofsted report, we are pleased to share that Parwich Primary School is judged to be a ‘Good’ school. Throughout the day of the inspection, the inspection team were highly positive with regards to the provision that we offer and stated that we were ‘a flourishing school’.
As a school team, we constantly strive to provide the very best for each and every pupil and we have always remained proud of the pupil’s resulting efforts and achievements. We believe the Ofsted team has captured our school ethos perfectly and points for improvement are areas that the school are already working on. After the inspection, we are reassured that under the present framework, we are on the correct path to ‘Outstanding’.
You can read the full report online https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/112604

Well what a week its been, the weather has been on our side and every event has been brilliantly supported. Everything from the traditional March, Carnival, Fair, Hill Race and Kid’s sports to the slightly less traditional Hungry Hippos and Bullseye I think we can all say we have definitely had a laugh and a smile along the way.
So it’s nearly time for the Carnival and Recreation Committee to sign off for a few weeks well deserved rest! But before we do THANK YOU to each and everyone of you. It takes a whole village to make these events successful and the Committee is only as good as all the helpers and supporters along the way so again THANK YOU.
Now enjoy the Strong Man today and see you all next year – put Saturday 1st July 2023 in your diary now 😁
Here are a few photos from Pete G from the last few days…

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has participated and hopefully enjoyed Wakes so far. It’s been an awesome weekend and record numbers of people attending. It means a lot to us Parwich folk and the Carnival and Recreation Committee that this tradition continues and this spurs us on to keep going. A massive shout out to everyone that has helped, donated or just contributed to the weekend and the best news is there is still a full week of events to go. A special shout out to Notts DA for attending, we have missed Ian and his family but his legacy will carry on.
Hopefully see you all around for the rest of the week and I’ll be sharing some better quality photos later in the week (thanks to David G).
But in the meantime here are just a few of mine so I will simply sign off with a THANK YOU and long may Parwich Wakes continue. Now to get ready for the Treasure Hunt 😁

Whilst we admire the beauty of the gardens on display during Open Gardens we don’t perhaps fully appreciate the effort and dedication that goes into the quest for perfection. We are indebted to David G who managed to catch this behind the scenes shot of one of our more athletic gardeners in his effort to get everything just in the correct position.

This survey is open to all, whether you come to church, or not. You can find it on this web page https://peakfive.org/?page_id=1622

Big congratulations to Dawn, Edith and Kerry for winning the Car Treasure Hunt. A special mention to Mark and Penny for their ‘special selfie’!

Thank you to everyone who took part and enjoyed the scenic route. Plus an extra special thanks to Rob Clarke for the delicious bread and Rob Stafford for the excellent burgers and sausages. Plus Liz and Carl for setting it. Hopefully we will do it all again next year.

Please welcome Donna and Mark:

After what seems like an age we have finally made our big move to Parwich. We (Mark and Donna) moved in to Barn Cottage on Creamery Lane over the Easter Bank Holiday and whilst there is still A LOT of work to do on the house, we are settling in and are already loving life in Parwich. Thank you to everyone who has already said hello and introduced themselves whilst we have been finding our way around with our two dogs, Misty (black lab) and Tess (lurcher), we already feel very welcomed!
We decided to take the plunge and make our ‘escape to the country’ when we both found ourselves able to work from home. On the rare occasions when we have to venture to the office, I (Donna) am a digital project manager for the NHS in Leeds, and Mark is a software engineer for a small private company based out of Nottingham University delivering digital workflow solutions.
We moved from Clitheroe in Lancashire after falling in love with Parwich last year. We plumped for Barn Cottage as a project… it’s probably what you’d call ‘quirky’ and we have a long way to go with major renovations…. we plan to temporarily move out whilst we make the improvements and would love to be able to stay in the village during that time, so if anyone knows of anywhere that may be available for a six-month or so let, please let us know… we will do our utmost to cause as little disruption for everyone but please bear with us while we get there!
Aside from home (improvement) challenges and walking the dogs, we both love motorsports, F1 and MotoGP in particular, (that’s watching not participating!). Mark has a real passion for film and TV and runs his own online review site, and I’m a keen runner and looking forward to finding new local routes to explore/get lost on!
We can’t wait to get firmly rooted in Parwich life… be sure to say hello, we look forward to meeting you all!
